Thank you, Andy.....you are so kind and thoughtful. You are vinyl, valued, and you are vital. This may be the most comforting thing you've said...to all of us:

"Thank you for keeping me here."

For whatever FR&B was when it was whelped, it's been buoyed by your love and inspiration these past two years.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you, Brad. I am thoughtful and kind?! I AM??! YOU are! (Sounds like “I’m not crying, you are 🤣).

Thank you for your very kind words, which I recirprocate. This place, and my carrying on, wouldn’t even exist without you. Lots of abrazos 😊😊😊

I, too, feel -- KNOW-- I don't "belong" in the Musicstack. My way of experiencing music is also so different from the norm.

And yet, here we are.

Don't you even think about deleting the evidence of your passion and authenticity.

Thank you so much, Faith. It is reassuring to know we're in the same boat and I kinda felt this was the case :)

Thank you also for your encouragement. It really means the world to me.

Thank you for always being there, for reading, for connecting, and for always telling it like it is. You have no idea how much I value you and your presence here.

Likewise. <3 You've inspired me to think more deeply not just about music, but about how I listen to it.

okay, i came back to read the comments, only to dscover that there's been a whole other thing happening in the audio version that I knew nothing about - because I'm a words-on-the-page person, not a listen to words person, and I just assumed that the audio would be verbatim.

I've been schooled. And btw, I have no idea what anyone else is doing with their audio version, but I have a hard time thinking it's better than your approach.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed. I enjoy recording them like this because it creates a nice contrast to the controlled nature of the written text. I can’t yet decide where I feel more comfortable, so I do both 😊

First off, congrats on your second anniversary! I read somewhere that 97% (or maybe 95%—definitely more than 93%😃) of bloggers don’t make it this far. So, well done—you just left most of the competition in the dust!

The future looks bright, so grab your shades—and leave the thought of quitting right where you found them. You won’t be needing that anymore.

I love your writing. I love your voiceovers. You’re a vital part of the music community here on Substack. And while I don’t want to diss your husband, well… husbands do tend to say those things. Mine tells me I’m strange at least twice a month. After 15 years, I’ve learned to take it as a compliment!

Strange? Complex? That’s where the magic is. Normal and bland? Plenty of people fill that role already.

Upwards and onwards—happy second anniversary Andy! Here’s to many, many more. (And my best to your husband!) 😁👍

Thank you so much, Pe! I didn’t know the statistics you mention, so this adds a whole new perspective to my journey here. Thank you so much for mentioning that.

And thank you, above all, for your very kind words! I respect you and your work so much — it’s crazy for me to read this level of endorsement from writers like you whom I respect and admire so much.

Lol yes it’s true husbands will say all sorts of things 🤣 At least we can answer back! 😅😅😅

Thanks again!!! 😘😘😘

Now THAT is how a voice over should be done. Hysterical. I plugged in the air pods, listened while I was cleaning out the dishwasher, had a good laugh, and actually felt like a real person was talking. Thank you. It’s a dark time, and listening was a little respite.

Thank you so much, John! I put a lot of love into these voiceovers and I have a lot of fun recording them. As you can see I like sharing whatever might be crossing my mind even if it is just a comment in passing as I think it’s the most honest I can be with the audience.

I am so glad to hear you have enjoyed it. Thanks again for listening!

Congrats on two years Andy!! I’m so glad you’re here and hope you stick around forever! I look forward to your posts every week (even if I’m so behind on my reading that it takes a day or two to get to them). I appreciate your writing precisely because you’re different and I selfishly want the diversity of thoughts, opinions, and approaches here in Musicstack. See you on Wednesday!!

Thank you very much, Mark! I also look forward to your posts every week and don't worry about delays as I think it happens to most of us. Reading and commenting are things that take time, and I am very grateful when people make the time to listen to what I have to say (regardless of when that may be).

Thank you also for saying it's precisely because of those differences that you enjoy what I do -- this is a very positive spin which helps me see things from another perspective.

Thanks again! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

"It’s not just due to generational or geographical divides: I write differently, I think differently, my favourite music is different. I sound different. I look different. I am different."

Statements like this is exactly why you should be here.

I have never felt like I really belong to any group growing up. I was to Metal to be Punk, to Blues to be Jazz. Not enough rhythm to be Reggae. And as a power lifter in my early years, I was to never going to pull off the '80s look for anything. But, thanks to you, Kyle, Brad, and so many more here, I feel that I belong and it does not really matter to what you like.

I know that I don't contribute much, putting pen to paper has never been my strong suit, but I am working on that.

Thank you for being here and allowing me to tag along. Congratulations

Thank you so much, Bob, for your kind words. It is comforting to hear I am not alone with this whole thing of feeling like an outsider. I think embracing our apparent "contradictions", or, rather, that which makes us unique and not fit neatly into the mold is precisely what makes us special in our own kind of way.

Really pleased to hear you have found refuge here as well as on Brad's page -- this is everything, and the main reason we do what we do.

Thank you for being such a valued and loyal member of the Vinyl Room!

Congrats, Andy! I appreciate all the hard work, honesty, and personality you put into your posts (and voice overs). I'm always excited when The Vinyl Room hits my inbox. I've felt a kinship with you since we started our Substacks at about the same time and both of our newsletters are different from the usual Musicstack fare (each in their own ways). I wouldn't want to be part of a community where you didn't belong. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you so much, Matt! Your very kind words and feedback are music to my ears. I also love the fact we started our Substacks at about the same time and that we write about our passions without worrying too much whether or not we "fit". I sometimes have self-conscious moments when I'm like... "what the hell am I doing here?" 🤣, but then I read messages like yours and I feel it's all (been) worth it. Thanks again!!
