Catching up—great to read about your new series, Andy. Music really is a powerful conduit. When I started The Twelve Inch, I didn’t expect to be able to connect so many records to moments from my own life, but now I find myself doing it almost every week.

We thought you were an outie, but we are about to discover you are a secret innie. Though, as you say, outies are especially skilled at avoiding exposing anything too raw. So I admire your willingness to "go there and go deep." Not sure why I put that in quotes.
I am not 100% clear what the Inner Grooves will entail, but I like to think it's a bit like what I've been doing, blending music and memoir. And so I like to think this has been influenced by me. And so I suggest you rename this series "Inner Goldbergs." Just a thought. 😂

I think it'll all become clearer once I publish the first Inner Grooves post on Wednesday, but think of it less as memoir + song and more like "this jarring/painful/dramatic/hilarious/[insert highly emotionally intense adjective] thing happened to me, and I learned ABC, and this song is opportune because of X, and by the way, did you know the song was inspired by Y, which ties nicely into my story because of Z". It's a messy format, but I hope it will click. Thanks for being here!
